Well, I already went actually. And not really Yemen in case you haven't figured out by now. I really went to Maui. The Yemen joke came from here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utJSxocFRGQ
It's really funny that some people thought we were really going to Yemen. The funniest question I got asked: "Why are you going to Yemen? Isn't it hot there?" AWESOME.
Anyway, Maui was pretty awesome. I ate tons of food, relaxed, and really just recharged my soul's battery. The toughest part about the trip was deciding what one pair of sneakers to bring! True sneakerhead, I know. As you can see below, I went with my retro IV's.
I also came away with a pretty slick fitted that you can't get anywhere on the mainland:
Can't wait to go back!

What we've learned (AKA I'm back vol.3)
New name, slightly new look, same old post-less-than-once-a-month attitude.
One thing I've learned (or maybe realized) aside from a whole bunch of IT stuff for my Master's is that I never really liked the title "House of Sole." Plus, it's been done already. Another thing I learned in these last few months since my last post is how to be a killer. No, not Dexter style, but on the basketball court. Pickup games at the local health club regularly follow a typical format. Both teams start out taking it easy and then when it gets close to game point, they try to kill each other trying to win. By playing here regularly, I've given myself a chance to practice these endgame situations over and over.
So what have I learned, ultimately? I LOVE being the killer. Doesn't matter how cold I am or how many shots I've missed in a game. At the end, I'm not afraid to shoot that last shot to win it. Do I make all of them? No, nobody does but you can't be afraid to shoot when the time comes, either.
I'm not blessed enough to be able to dunk. A dunk is only worth two points anyway. There's something absolutely backbreaking about a 3-pointer though, especially at the end of games. There's a reason they are called "dagger three's." They are the most devastating blow you can deal to the other team.
Some really good dagger 3's from recent memory:

Another one against the Heat (haha)
