Life has been busy..I'll definitely get to the regular posting once drumline season is over in two weeks.
I like getting into the holiday spirit by showing off certain kicks. This year, I went with the Jordan I lows for St. Patty's Day:
Some people wear green, some people use the day as an excuse to be drunk outta their mind, some people eat tons of corn beef n cabbage. I'll just stick with sporting kicks with green on em.

Save the Best for Last
Did you know that the Air Jordan xx3 is the last "numbered" Jordan model? The Jordan 2009, Jordan 2010, and now the Jordan 2011 are actually Jordans 24-26 but for marketing purposes, the brand decided that there was something symbolic and final about stopping at number 23. Now, each new Jordan is kind of like a car model released each year.
Being the final numbered model, Jordan really wanted a shoe that evoked a true sense of luxury and craftsmanship for the xx3. The main leather panel on both the lateral and medial sides of the shoe are inspired by fine Italian leathers and patterns. Also, other details of the shoe are meant to reflect a high level of sophistication not found in other shoes. For example, the outsole (bottom) of the shoe is Jordan's actual thumbprint (FAIL: I should've taken a picture of it). Interestingly enough, there's no Jordan logo anywhere on the shoe and yet, something about the look of the shoe still screams "air Jordan."

I found these on sale during a Las Vegas trip a couple of years ago. I couldn't decide which color to buy so I ended up going a little crazy and getting these three:

It's definitely a nice shoe to bring out for special occasions...or if I just want to unnecessarily look good at the local starbucks.

Bo Knows
Isn't it crazy how sometimes we complain about how time is so slow and other times it just snowballs and before we know it, days, months, and even years just seem to go by in the blink of an eye? Kinda feels like that's what happened in the last few days.
Anyway, onto the sneakers. The collection actually got a break this past weekend since I have to dress up for work and that got me thinking about shoes I like to wear when the Jordans need a break. Without a doubt, my favorite non-jordan sneaker is the Air Trainer III, a shoe that Bo Jackson wore and endorsed back in the day.

My parents bought me my first air trainers several years ago in Las Vegas (blk/red, first pair on the left in the second row). I was under 21 so I couldn't really do anything Vegas-y but my parents, knowing that I loved sneakers and that red was my favorite color, got that pair for me and I've been hunting them down ever since. THANKS mom and dad!

Once You Go Black...
...Well you know the saying.
I don't really know much about fashion but I do know that winter is a time to put away the white sneakers and shoes in favor of the darker colors. So..all my darker Jordans get plenty of wear this time of year. Here's what I've rotating through lately--the "Black Collection" I like to call it:
Got some Jordan I Hi Premiers, Jordan II's, Jordan III's (black cats), and the recent Jordan VI's released ("Oreos") in there. I'm not that big of a fan of the laser look (like you see in the Jordan I's above) but I'm a big fan of the I's and I got these for a great price from Sole Supremacy so why not wear 'em?
Boy I can't wait til the weather warms up again and it's shorts and tee season.
