Retired: Air Pegasus 2005

It was a good run.
(Yes, pun intended).

Last weekend, I officially retired my first good pair of running shoes, the Nike Air Pegasus 2005. The name "Pegasus" comes from the mythical Greek horse that could fly and this shoe model itself is pretty special to Nike.  It is one of the oldest running lines in Nike's collection.  The first model came out in 1983, two years before I was born!  Here's a picture of the original (courtesy of the inside Nike running blog):

At the end of the race, participants could either take home their mud saturated shoes or tie them together and donate them, which my friend and I both did.  I was actually a little sad when I tossed mine into the pile.  At least I have an excuse to get a new pair of running shoes.
